Beading Glasses is not difficult, however it may be a craft that is grasped more easily if you see someone demonstrating this. I came up with this idea to bead wine glasses after a friend taught me to bead silverware.
You will need:
- 20 gauge copper wire (silver colored). Typically 20 gauge wire is found separately from the beading and jewelry area in craft stores. So you may need to ask for assistance in finding it in a store.
- Wine glasses
- Glass beads
- Tool to bend wire and tool to cut wire. (These will be in jewelry and bead isle).
To make:
- Cut roughly 12 to 15 inches of wire. Curl one end of wire so it makes a spiral (see photo below of a circle curled within a circle). Place next to stem. Hold in place and wrap wire around stem two or three times. Add a bead (or two or three) and wrap wire around stem a couple of more times. Continue until you like the look. Finish by again making a spiral curl at the base of the stem.
